The final lot...

It'd be the height of hubris if I tried to replicate the grand master of narrative mythological lyricism- Johnny Cash- into an illustration. Luckily "Big Iron" isn't one of his originals.
Originally recorded and written by Marty Robbins, Cash does what he does best on his American Recording albums and applies his deathbed baritone to weight, drama and mythology to this song.

There was forty feet between them when they stopped to make their play
And the swiftness of the ranger is still talked about to-day
Texas Red had not cleared leather when a bullet fairly ripped

After Sam Butera & The Witnesses "French Poodle".  From the band that were playing up in Las Vegas before it was on the map. Vegas jump/swing/rock/lounge band supreme!

It was because of her French Poodle,
I knew she was my style
I took a look at her French Poodle and then she started to smile

After Melbourne band, Wagons.
A tale of a test of manhood. Go walking in the Redwood forest at night. A brother comes back from the grave to help his brother out.
The redwoods.
Walk in the redwoods.
Then you'll truly become a man.


"Rock Me Like A Titan",  20"x 32"

Strangely enough it was this The Hyperions track that inspired these bodies of work, and it was the last one I finished.

Enlightened and excited with a new priority
I shift my gears on a race to eternity
Feeling ever closer to a sense of humanity
rocking like a titan in a big bad mystery
